Propylene

Propylene, colorless slightly sweet gas, boiling point-47.7 ℃, critical temperature 92 ℃, critical pressure 4.56MPa. It is an important basic raw material of basic organic chemical industry, which is mainly derived from the pyrolysis of hydrocarbons in kerogen and refinery gas of petroleum refinery.

The use of propylene is an important chemical raw material, can produce a variety of organic chemical products. The proportion of propylene in the United States and Western Europe for the production of organic chemical products is about polypropylene 30%, acrylonitrile 17%, propylene oxide 11%, isopropyl alcohol 10%, cumene 9%, carbonyl synthetic products 8%, other varieties 15%. In addition, propylene is directly used for fuel in the form of liquefied gas, and can be laminated to produce a high octane number of laminated gasoline.

Safe and high concentrations of propylene have an anesthetic effect on people with low concentrations, stimulating the eyes and skin. Propylene and air can form explosive mixtures, explosion limit 2.0%~11% (volume). Leakage of liquid or gaseous propylene has the potential to cause fire and explosion. Liquid propylene is pressurized and stored at ambient temperature and can be transported by tankers and ships.
